Welcome to the Evac mobile application ("Evac", "we", "our", "us"). At Evac, we prioritize your privacy and are committed to protecting it while ensuring that the app can be used in emergency situations when entering credentials is not easy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle the information you provide when using the app.

By using Evac, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Information We Collect

Evac is designed with minimal data collection to protect your privacy. The only information we collect is the alias you choose to enter when joining or creating an evacuation group, and, if you join a group with a geographic area, Evac will use your GPS coordinates to determine if your device is within the group's area.

Alias

• Purpose: The alias helps members of an evacuation group and the Evac Administrator identify users during emergency situations.

• User Choice: You are free to use either your real name or a fictional alias. However, we recommend using an alias recognizable to the group coordinator and a few other members to ensure you can be identified during evacuations.

• Visibility: Your chosen alias will be visible to all members of the evacuation group(s) you join or create, as well as to the Evac Administrator, who manages the overall functionality and operations of the Evac app.

Presence in Area

• Purpose: The reported presence in the area is used to count the number of people in a premise, allowing group coordinators to ensure that the maximum number of people allowed on the premise is respected.

• User Choice: You are free to refuse the collection of the geolocation information used to determine your presence in the area. In this case, you'll be counted as being in the area of every group. This will result in potentially fewer people accessing the premises, since you'll be accounted for, even if absent.

• Visibility: Your GPS coordinates are NOT shared with anyone; they are only used by Evac, locally on your device, to determine your presence in the area, only your presence is shared, and that only as a global counter for the group.

Information Sharing

Evac does not share your information with third parties. Your information is only visible to:

1. Members of the evacuation groups you belong to.

2. The Evac Administrator of the app, responsible for managing and ensuring the app's proper functioning.

Data Storage and Security

We are committed to ensuring your information is secure. While Evac minimizes data collection, the alias you provide is stored securely to maintain group functionality. Measures are in place to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.

Your Rights and Responsibilities

As a user of Evac:

1. You Have Control: You can leave a group at any time, which will remove your alias from all systems.

2. Be Responsible: Ensure that the alias you choose helps group members identify you during evacuations.

3. Privacy Awareness: Remember that your alias will be visible to all members of the groups you join and to the Evac Administrator.
